Ibiza, that small island in the heart of the Mediterranean. An island made up of five municipalities and 572 square kilometres. We are going to take a tour of the most characteristic places of this municipality. So that when you visit it you will not miss a thing.

Despite being the smallest municipality of the five, it is the capital of the island. The city was declared a World Heritage Site in 1999.

A visit to Ibiza, the fashionable municipality

We can start our visit through some of the most important historical neighbourhoods of the city. The Marina, Sa Penya and Dalt Vila are the perfect starting point for our tour. Neighbourhoods wherein each of its streets you can feel the authentic essence of the city. Through its streets, you will discover the past history of the island.

To continue, we can visit its Renaissance walls from the 16th century, which are one of the main tourist attractions in the city. Crowning the old town we will find the Ibiza Cathedral, which we can visit inside during our walk. Undoubtedly, the views offered by the upper part of Dalt Vila are worth it and are the reward for the effort of the journey through its narrow streets with rocky soil.

To finish, a compulsory visit that we must make on our tour of this municipality is the monographic museum and the Punic necropolis of Puig des Molins. The only Phoenician and Punic necropolis on the island and showing the remains found in the ancient excavations.
